Dr Chamika is a highly experienced and extensively trained dental surgeon, dedicated to delivering exceptional, comprehensive care with a strong focus on both function and aesthetics. Originally from Brisbane, he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide before gaining valuable clinical experience working in regional Australia.
Dr Chamika later brought his expertise to the Central Coast, where he became the principal dentist and owner of Terrigal Dental & Orthodontics. He has a special interest in veneers, implants, cosmetic dentistry and orthodontics, and is known for his ability to seamlessly combine disciplines to create tailored treatment plans that address each patient’s unique dental and dentofacial aesthetic goals to create a harmonious facially driven result.
Committed to ongoing education at the highest level, Dr Chamika completed a Master’s degree in Specialised Orthodontics at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Clear Aligner Orthodontics) from the City of London Dental School, further strengthening his expertise in modern orthodontic solutions.
In addition to his orthodontic and cosmetic work, Dr Chamika has undertaken extensive surgical training in dental implants, including implant placement, bone augmentation, and grafting procedures. His comprehensive skill set allows him to provide patients with advanced, integrated care under one roof.
Dr Chamika is a DSD dentist and has been trained in digital smile design by Dr Christian Coachman with a program developed alongside Dr Michael Apa of the world renowned Apa Aesthetic cosmetic clinics.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Chamika enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is a proud father of two young sons who love playing soccer, riding bikes, and being active outdoors. Sharing in these moments is an important part of maintaining balance outside of his professional life.
Dr Chamika is also a qualified pilot, and when time permits, you may spot him flying in the skies above the Central Coast – a passion that reflects his precision, focus, and commitment to continual learning.
He is actively involved in the dental community, serving as the President of the Australian Dental Association NSW Central Coast Division. In this role, he is committed to promoting education, collaboration, and high standards of oral healthcare among dental professionals in the region. He also contributes at a state level as a member of the ADA New South Wales Education Committee, where he helps guide and develop educational programs for dentists across New South Wales.
Dr Chamika has a strong passion for continuing professional development, not only for himself but for the wider dental team. This commitment is reflected in the graduate dentist program within the practice, where newly qualified dentists are mentored and supported to develop exceptional clinical skills. This ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care, regardless of which clinician they see.
